WEST SHORE CHAPTER

WILLIAM SMITH, Susquenita HS: A two-sport athlete for Susquenita, Mr. Smith starred in football and track and field for the Blackhawks in the mid-1960s before becoming a running back for Millersville State College from 1969-1972. Mr. Smith also spent more than a decade coaching football before becoming a track and field official in the early 1980s. In more than five decades, Mr. Smith has officiated at the high school, college, national, and international levels as an official including serving as a starter for nine different NCAA championships, six USATF championships and 2022 World Championships.
