
KELLY (CROMER) FARRELL: An outstanding athlete at both the high school level at Northern High School and collegiately at Lock Haven State College (University), Kelly left her mark on the Central Pennsylvania landscape as an educator for 35 years and a legendary softball coach for the Central Dauphin Rams program. The Northern Hall Of Fame inductee and USA Field Hockey team member in 1973 and 1975, Kelly also coached basketball and field hockey during her more than three decades at Central Dauphin, compiling 926 career victories as a head coach. Softball was her No. 1 sport at Central Dauphin and only coach several generations knew because of her longevity, Kelly compiled a staggering 579-152 record, or a staggering 792 winning percentage. For 35 years, the CD Rams softball program won on average eight out of every 10 games they played under Kelly’s mentorship. The Rams won 17 league titles, a trio of District 3 championships and one appearance in the PIAA semifinals where CD fell to the eventual state champion. Following retirement, Kelly continued coaching at her alma mater, Northern, and continues to be involved in the Polar Bears’ athletic program to this date.
