
CHRIS HAKEL, Mechanicsburg HS: The quarterback for the Wildcats, Chris led his high school alma mater to their first District 3 Class 4A championship in school history in 1987. In addition to being the quarterback for that championship team, Chris also played safety and was the punter. He took his attributes as a quarterback to the College of William and Mary where he guided the No. 1 NCAA Division I-AA offense in the country and held the school single season passing record of 3,414 yards for more than a decade. In 1992, he was the 112th pick overall in the NFL Draft (fourth round) by the Washington Redskins and played for the Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs. Following his football career, Chris became a coach and served as a coordinator and head coach for Mechanicsburg for more than a decade and is currently part of the Red Land football coaching staff.
