GREG BROWN: Pittsburgh is where Greg calls home, but he grew up in Central Pennsylvania. Born in Washington DC, the Emmy Award winning broadcaster is a 1978 graduate of Trinity High School and attended Harrisburg Area Community College before landing an intership in 1979 with the eventual World Series Champion Pittsburgh Pirates. More than three decades later, Greg is now a Pirates legend with more games as a radio/TV broadcaster under his belt than any announcer in franchise history. Prior to joining the broadcast team for the Pirates, Greg spent a decade working for the club as a promotions assistant where among his many jobs and duties he served as the public address announcer for three seasons. He worked on his craft as a baseball announcer for five seasons in the minor leagues with the Buffalo Bison before Pittsburgh called him back home to be part of the Pirates broadcast team in 1994. During his time in Buffalo, Greg also did broadcasts for the Buffalo Bills, University of Buffalo and Buffalo Sabres. Last year he was inducted into the Buffalo Baseball Hall Of Fame.
